Spring is here and with the cold out of the way, our friend Ta-Ku has a brand new EP (almost) ready for the season which he’s affectionately titled Songs To Make Up To– a somewhat logical sequel to his last release, Songs To Break Up To. Today we finally got a first listen to the release via a collaboration with Detroit vocalist JMSN and Soulection producer Sango entitled Love Again and of course it’s got us excited for the release of this new 7-track EP.
The warm, happy vibe on this track is is a distinct departure from the dissonant sounds on Songs To Break Up To and the gospel influences are undeniable particularly with regards to the choral-like vocal delivery. I think its safe to say that much of the EP will follow this new direction as Ta-Ku tries to encapsulate the kind of emotions that would make you want to make up with you know, that last person you hurt or pfffffft… whatever. In any case, the EP is set to release on June 12th via Fool’s Gold / Future Classic and we’re beyond stoked to hear what else the Aussie genre-killer has in store for us! As always, stay tuned for updates.
