DJ Scene + Four Color Zack - Slap It Down feat. M.O.P.

The homies DJ Scene and Four Color Zack recently dropped a dope new track entitled Slap It Down feat. M.O.P. on Fool’s Gold Records and DJ Scene was kind enough to answer some of our questions before the release of the entire Slap It Down EP ~~due on March 17th~~ available now. – Who is your favorite DJs/Producers right now?

I like a lot of stuff that’s forward thinking and still practical for the club at the same time. Yellow Claw, GTA, Grandtheft, A-Trak, TJR, Snake, Deorro, Floss, Diplo just to name a few.

– How did you connect with Four Color Zack

We’re both from Seattle and have worked with a lot of the same people, throwing nights, doing 2×4 sets and making bootlegs. Zack is one of my favorite DJs to see live and since we both have a strong club background, it was a good combo when we started working on original material.

– How did you make the M.O.P. feature happen?

We had to make some calls haha. M.O.P. are legends in the game. As we got closer to finishing ‘Slap It Down’ we felt the record needed distinct, in-your-face vocals that would command a party. M.O.P. was on the very top of the list.

– How did your relationship with Fools Gold come together?

My first release with Fool’s Gold was a colab with Jayceeoh called “Damn”. “Slap It Down” came together after FCZ sent the record to Nick Catchdubs and he wanted it to live on FG. We added the other 3 tracks later to round out a complete EP.

– Do you have any other tracks in the works with vocalists? Who are some rappers/singers that you’d like to collab with?

Definitely have a bunch of projects and ideas in the works. Testing a lot of the stuff right now in the clubs. I’d love to colab on something with Mary J Blige. No other specific singers right now, but if it’s a good fit we’re gonna run with it.

– What can we expect from the remaining three tracks off of the EP?

Diverse selection. Zack and I both wanted to make something that had options for different scenarios and different BMPs in the club. No matter what kind of party it is, there’s something you can go to.

– Do you have any shows coming up that you’re really looking forward to?

Doing some dates in the Philippines next month. Haven’t been out there yet so that should be fun.
