In what seems like an odd pairing, Skrillex, What So Not, and Flume collaborator George Maple teamed up with the classic rock band Toto. Yeah the one’s who infamously sang about how “they missed the rains down in Africa.” At first glance this may seem a bit….strange, but upon further inspection it actually makes sense. What So Not played Toto’s hit “Africa” during many of Emoh’s first sets over in the U.S. as well as throwing the classic hit in their mix for BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Skrillex, after hangin with Emoh some, even included it in a few of his sets including his live streamed show at Red Rocks and working with classic rock bands isn’t anything new to Skrilly anyways. You might recall his work with The Doors on “Breakin A Sweat” and bringing them out at Bonaroo last year. The real question stemming from this session is how is this music going to be released. Is it going to be on the Flume album? What So Not EP? As a single? We’re going to have to wait and see what happens but boy am I excited.
