Diplo is currently in India along with Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, the other members of Major Lazer for a three-city tour, making stops in Mumbai (12 December), Delhi (13 December) and Bangalore (14 December). In addition to the tour, the trio have also been shooting a music video for one of their tracks. From the looks of Diplo’s Instagram, looks like they’re having a good time.
In the midst of all this, the Mad Decent CEO found some time to sit down and talk about what he currently has planned in the coming year. The best information that the interview reaped? The fact that we’ll be getting two new Major Lazer albums in 2015, one of which was recently mixed & mastered and is on track for a February release. Each album is set to consist of 8 tracks. Check out what else Diplo had to say…
On performing in India:
Many acts have been coming to India and we are happy that we got to be part of that. We plan to come back to Indian again. It will be after our next records.
On working with Skrillex:
We have been working together for a while now. We have been working on many tacks, so you will see us collaborate on more projects. Our collaborative tracks will be released next year.
Also, Ty Dolla $ign’s Diplo-produced track, ‘Stand For’, got a bit of a rebirth today from Diplo himself, plus a couple bandmates from Grizzly Bear & Vampire Weekend. The beat is largely the same, the lyrics are not. We swap out Ty’s autotuned lyrics for Droste’s and Rostams vocals (I assume). Ty’s version was good, but we’re feeling this one too. Check it out below.
