Many of you are most likely familiar with AWE from his hit track, Crystals, that put him on the map earlier this ear. He followed that up with more stellar work and an appearance at HARD: DOTD. The LA beatsmith is back with two new tracks.
Triassic take you on a journey and people have been waiting on this one ever since it aired as the intro track on AWE’s guest mix on Skream’s BBC Radio 1 show; it also serves as a follow up to his track ‘Jurassic’. With the illest of woozy, warped synths and consistent bass on the drops, and wondrous synths to fill in the gaps, it most certainly keeps you on your toes.
Griffin kicks off with triumphant horns followed by “a venomous punch of heavy hitting beats and bass at a time where the music industry is awash with middle of the road and often forgettable tracks.” Both of these tracks have been released via Terrorhythm and will definitely get you breakin’ it down. Here’s what AWE himself had to say:
‘Griffin’ is what happened when I sat down around a year ago and decided to make a pure festival banger. I just had fun with a simple rhythmic motif and it wrote itself. Rarely do I write an all out club track so this was a nice change of pace – I somehow fit 303 acid basslines, dog barks, 1990s jungle samples and 808 kicks in a song and I think it works!
Stream the two tracks below and be sure to support the homies on Bandcamp and cop ’em if you’re feelin’ ’em.
