Skrillex – Ease My Mind (GTA Remix) + Jai Wolf Remix

Skrillex‘s introductory record Recess, spawned a number of originals that became inescapable this year. Along with the grip of new Skrillex jams, multiple marquee remixers have stepped up to deliver their own renditions of tracks such as “Ragga Bomb” and “Recess.” Now, GTA‘s metalic, clanging spin on “Ease My Mind” has reached the wire, and the genre-defiant duo’s rework takes a bold stance boasting a wide array of sounds.

“Ease My Mind” has become an emotive closer in live Skrillex sets this past year, and the GTA version has found itself accompanying the original in many of Sonny’s biggest outings of the year. The rework incorporates sharp steel drum punches, allowing Niki and the Dove’s melodic contributions to flow freely over the tightly arranged hi-hat rolls that push the tune onward. Working in accute trap music elements, as well as light additions of dance hall-inspired sounds, GTA makes “Ease My Mind” their own. A love song at its core, GTA’s reimagining of “Ease My Mind” gives the tune a uniquely different vibe, however holds true to the original’s impassioned appeal.

A collection of “Ease My Mind” and “Ragga Bomb” remixes will be officially available via OWSLA on November 24th.
