Pornhub Launches New Record Label & Search for “Pornhub Anthem”

Hide yo kids, hide yo wifi, because Pornhub has announced the new launch of their very own.. record label. In cohesion with this label launch, they’ve kicked off the search for the new “Pornhub anthem”. The winner will receive a $5,000 prize that will go towards an official music video that will debut on the site. Pornhub says they already have about 50 entries into the contest, and I’m sure submissions are about to “blow” now that this news has hit the masses.

We’ve always seen a strong music presence from the beginning of Pornhub,” says company head of PR and marketing Matt Blake. “Artists upload their own stuff, like uncensored tracks and R-rated versions of songs. Some people come in and upload exclusive videos, so it creates a buzz for them.”

“A&R is a work in progress,” says Blake. “Right now it’s all about forming relationships and understanding how this all works. We’re focused on distributing through the platform and digital sales,” with physical releases possibly coming at a later stage.

I can say first “hand”, that I’ve never seen much music video content on the Pornhub site, but with Porn Hub’s huge user base (ranked the 74th most trafficked site on the internet), and strong base of video content, almost any video posted on the site is guaranteed millions of views. Although this seems hilarious, it’s very possible that PH could soon become a serious competitor in the industry with the massive amount of reach they have on the web.
