Forbes recently released its list of 2014’s highest paid DJs, in which they highlighted the 13 DJs that made the most money from their respective DJ careers. Forbes calculated the total income for one calendar year based on a variety of money-making ventures.
Our estimates for the Electronic Cash Kings list include earnings from live shows, merchandise sales, endorsements, recorded music sales and external business ventures. Sources include Songkick, Pollstar, RIAA, managers, promoters, lawyers and some of the artists themselves. Earnings totals were calculated for the 12-month period from June 1, 2013 to June 1, 2014.

The names are ones that honestly, you would expect. Leading the list for a second year in a row is Calvin Harris, whose breakthrough in the mainstream world producing for the likes of Rihanna and Ke$ha garnered him main stage appearances all over the world. His $66 million in earnings more than doubled the second place earner. David Guetta, who has residencies all over the world in places like Ibiza and Las Vegas.
At number five we have Steve Aoki, son of Benihana and Father of Dim-Mak records, who played an incredible 277 shows and earned $23 Million in the span of one calendar year. According to Forbes he played almost double the amount of shows than everyone else on the list. Say what you want about him, the man is a work horse.
Other huge names such as Kaskade, Skrillex, Hardwell and Tiesto are on the list of the top 13 earners. Daft Punk was incredibly close to making the list almost entirely with money made from sales of their grammy winning album, “Random Access Memories.” Shows just how important touring is
