As we all know, the legendary DJ Shadow is all about that too future life, so future that his set even got him kicked off the decks at Mansion Miami last year. with that said, we know that Dj Shadow is all about pushing forward thinking sounds, so it only makes sense that he’s teamed up with the likes of Bleep Bloop who is notorious for pushing some of the most abstract tunes in the game. DJ Shadow and Bleep Bloop met after BB heard him playing a remix off of his”Tilt” EP at emissions festival, the two then meet up in Bleep’s home studio and “Blast Off” is the result.
The track comes through with an abstract aura from the start, then rolls into a unique and futuristic heater with a heavy low end and obscure samples. The track isn’t over saturated with sounds, but instead uses unique sampling and production in all the right places to keep the track wide and spacey.
