Chicago based producer Patrick Stratton aka Stratus is back after a slew of freebies and two releases on Ultra Music, this time dropping his hard hitting 3 track ‘POWER UP’ EP via SMOG Records for the masses to enjoy. Stratus is known for hit super tight, hard hitting production, and he stays true to form on the POWER UP Ep, delivering 3 tracks that will pop off in a club or festival setting.

The EP opens up with the title track, POWER UP, a dubstep smasher that’s guaranteed to get any room jumping off. He follows up with YES, a bouncy trap heater filled with an ominous melody that channels and Egyptian based theme with 8 bit production styles. The EP then wraps up with Bermuda, a track that starts out with a build perfect for any festival set, and drops into a crunchy set of synth work, something that would feel right at home in a Skrillex or Knife Party set.

When an ep with production this tight comes through my inbox, I can’t help but rinse them all a couple times to catch all the little details. On POWER UP EP all three tracks keep growing on me and the title track brings me back to channel the days when I was all about the hard hitting dubstep.
