It’s been over a month since the announcement of XXL’s 2014 Freshmen class, but today we finally are graced with their mixtape. The mixtape features 21 tracks of all brand new material with features from artists such as 2 Chainz and Fabulous and production from up and comers like DJ Montay and Big Korey. The only weakness seems to be the absence of Chance The Rapper.
Songs like Lil Durk’s “Voices In My Head” are certified bangers, while others such as Ty Dolla $ign’s “Type Of Shit I Hate” have the potential to be big summer anthems. More standouts to check for are Isaiah Rashad’s “Part IV,” August Alsina’s “Right Now” and Jarren Benton’s “Gimme The Loot.”
