Dr. Dre Confirms $3.2 Billion Apple / Beats Deal

The news broke yesterday that Apple is reportedly in talks with Beats Electronics to purchase the company for $3.2 Billion. If the deal goes through, it would be Apples largest acquisition in the company’s history, and will make Dr. Dre the wealthiest man in hip hop. Note: despite the fact that some people might believe this is a hardware play for apple, its actually a move on the Beats streaming service that’s in direct competition with Spotify.

Before an official statement was released, Tyrese (seemingly drunk off Heinekens) took to instagram to upload a series of videos in the studio with Dr. Dre, in which Dre confirms that his is in fact going to be hip-hop’s first billionaire.

“The first billionaire in hip hop, right here from the motherfucking West Coast— believe me.”

Although no official statement has been released, we can’t imagine that Dre would jeopardize the acquisition if the deal was not yet officially signed. See the full upload of Tyrese’s video below.
