Chromeo is white hot on their comeback campaign right now, generating hype behind their upcoming studio album White Women. Coming off two incredibly successful weekends of mainstage madness at Coachella, and stealing Jimmy Kimmel’s spotlight last week, along with a 22 stop country wide tour that is well underway, the delightfully dapper duo are without a doubt on fire. Additionally, the wave of remixes of the pair’s newest jams continues to flood in, most recently with DJ Hoodboi‘s bouncy spin on Chromeo’s funky pop number, “Jealous.”
The rising masked producer delivers a fresh take on Chromeo’s inescapably infectious, ultra-peppy tune by slowing the vibe down just a little, to make for the perfect union of funk and jersey club, with sexy written all over it. Introducing the remix, Hoodboi chops the original tune’s, “I ain’t with it” hook while bringing in Dave1’s sensual vocal work. The remix breaks with a hypnotic synth arrangement and carefully placed sample selections. Water droplets, shiver-inducing chimes, and crisp claps along with hi hat rolls represent jersey club in high regard as DJ Hoodboi ups the tune’s already evident sex appeal to a whole different level.
