In a recent interview with Australian radio station Triple J, Skrillex opened up about his latest album “Recess” as well as his upcoming collaboration with What So Not. Here’s some of what he had to say about working with Flume and Emoh Instead:
“We did a record when I was in Australia, he said. “We did a couple actually. A lot of them are finished, and you’ll see that stuff surface when the time is right. I was in there with Emoh Instead as Harley so it will be a [Emoh/Flume side project] What So Not and Skrillex track. We did some back to back sets in Australia and we just have fun playing and making music together. It just kind of naturally happened.”
With Skrillex getting ready to go on tour with What So Not, hopefully the time for these tracks to surface is sooner rather than later. Either way I’m sure we will get a taste of what these amazing producers have put together during the tour and who knows, maybe more music will come from the tour as well.
He also talked about his new album “Recess” saying this:
“I recorded like forty tracks for the album – not all of it finished,” he said. “I wanted to put out something that had decibels, and dynamics as far as a record goes. I didn’t just want to put out bangers; I also wanted to touch new ground. I think those tracks work so well together as far as a story goes.”
