Carolina native J. Cole, who is known for unexpectedly releasing mixtapes, and singles and freestyles that have fans rushing to the websites and on separate occasions temporarily “breaking” the internet, announces via his Twitter account that for his birthday today he has released a new mixtape titled “Revenge Of The Dreamers.” 11 brand new tracks that will leave you awestruck as always. Unlike most of Coles releases, this mixtape has quite a bit of features, mostly from people in Coles ‘Dreamville‘ circle. Even ending the mixtape with a Original Version of the smash radio hit “Crooked Smiles” which samples the widely used Tupac beat “Str8 Ballin.” Only one hour after release through Audiomack.com, the mixtape has nearly 200K plays, assuring any naysayer J. Cole is a massive force in the hiphop world.
I recommend checking out “May The Bitter Man Win” and “Blowin Smoke” first. But the whole mixtape is definitely worth a spot on your iPod.
About a half an hour after the release, J. Cole blasted out another Tweet with a number to call, a trend we’re seeing more and more. And one I personally think is an amazing way to connect with a the massive fanbase these artists have. In the message Cole addresses talks of an upcoming album, and other bodies of work, but carefully saying “There will be no news or info, just be ready.”
