The Mau5 always has something to say, although rarely is the matter of his famed rants actually regarding him personally. Usually its some long winded, patronizing rant about whats wrong with the music industry or how other DJs are less legit than he believes he is, or something along those lines. But today, I’ve got Deadmau5‘s back. Rather than instigating the controversy, Deadmau5 is firing back at Flo Rida, and his “Beamz by Flo” contraption. “Beamz by Flo,” for those of you who aren’t well-versed DJs on the cutting edge of musical technology, is a device that allows the user to control programmed radio pop hits, add effects, and layer in instrumentation by waving their hands through laser beams. I know, it sounds like something Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire would all be huddled over to warm up Hot Pockets before a Major Lazer show, right?
Well last month, the controversially outspoken Deadmau5 posted a video of him throwing one of these incredible devices out of the window of his Ferrari, and Flo Rida seemed to take his jab back at the loudest mouth on twitter in the new advertisement for “Beamz”. The video advertisement for the Beamz device features a figure sporting the legendary mouse helmet, with a childishly passive aggressive tag that reads, “So easy even a mouse can play!” Deadmau5 then made sure his voice was heard. Following the release of the advertisement, Deadmau5 took to twitter, where all celebrity rants now take place, to vent his frustration and tell us how he really feels.

Producers like Steve Angello and Wolfgang Gartner also chimed in support for Deadmau5 on twitter, questioning the legality of the move by Flo Rida. Deadmau5 responded with:
.@beamzmusic i dont recall agreeing to any terms of you using my likeness and trademark to sell your shitty product.

…which ultimately means that after contacting his lawyers, at the expense of Beams by Flo, Deadmau5 should be racking in some:
tour money.
