I don’t know what’s going on in Australia but the Oz has been absolutely exploding with fresh new music as of late. In what seems to be an endless pool of talent, Future Classic (home to Flight Facilities, Classixx, and Flume (omg Flerm!)) has brought our attention to yet another gifted Aussie producer. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Hayden James. James was first projected into the spotlight when his single Permission to Love created a stir in the blogosphere earning over 400k plays and several hit remixes. Now with the release of this EP, “Hayden James” is certainly a name you should start getting used to seeing.
The self titled EP is a warm, mellow collection of tracks that seem to follow a theme about relationships and love some **** I just don’t understand very well but the tropical analog vibe is something anyone with a set of ears can relate to. Tracks like Lay Down and No Time stand out with particularly strong grooves and soulful vocals but the entire piece is a pleasant listen-through from start to finish. In fact, this is one of those records so dense with tasteful subtlety that it almost changes each time it’s listened to. While it might be a little too late to stick this on your summer playlist (not for me, it’s still hot as **** here in LA, ****), the subject matter makes it perfect for the beginnings of cold season as everyone (except for @Lewdite here) pairs off into couples for the winter.
The album is available via itunes or you can go ahead a stream it right here! We’re looking forward to more from Hayden James but let us know what you think on our facebook or twitter. Stay tuned for more of that new new!
