Waka Flocka Flame To Drop EDM Based Hip-Hop Album ft Diplo, Skrillex, Flosstradamus & More

That right, folks. Electronic Dance Music’s astronomically rapid expansion doesn’t seem to be slowing its roll any time soon. With people like Paris Hilton and Will.i.am calling themselves DJs nowadays, it seems like only a matter of time before Oprah Winfrey takes to the 1’s and 2’s. But at least we have something for now to catch our attention, that might actually turn out to be pretty dope in the end.

EDM’s evolution into various sub-genre’s and sounds will only expand further (see our post on trap music evolved) as news this week of southern rap star Waka Flocka Flame’s upcoming EDM album reached the wire. The self-proclaimed, “Rap King Of EDM” has been remixed by the likes of Crizzly, A-trak, Borgore, and tons of other renown DJs, so it only seems fitting that eventually Waka would dip into the EDM game. Waka Flocka has kept the majority of the details regarding this studio endeavor a secret, although there are a few things we do know from his past interview with Hip Hop Dx and word from other sources. Super producers and party conductors Skrillex and Diplo are working closely with Waka on collaborations for the forthcoming album. Other collaborators confirmed are everyone’s favorite twin-turbo trap twosome, Flosstradamus, and according to some sources Miley Cirus (shit, really?). Some details that do remain murky as of now are the album’s release date and name. Waka has confirmed that he will be releasing an album cleverly titled, Flockaveli 2 in early October, but as to whether this will be the EDM project or something completely different still remains a mystery.

Waka Flocka, the man responsible for hip hop anthems like, “Hard in da Paint” and “Groove St. Party”, has had his tracks become staples in some of the best trap sets. With both halves of Jack U and the Hoodie Boyz on board, this cross-breed, genre bending project is sure to cause tons of hype. Flocka’s hard southern style, meshed with that brain-rattling signature Skrillex sound, and Diplo’s magical ability to make anywhere into a dance floor should bring a lot of juice to this forthcoming studio stint.

Be ready to TURN UP friends, because when this album does drop, we are all going HARD IN THE MOTHER F%@#IN’ PAINT for sure.

Comparing Will.I.Am to Paris Hilton makes me sick. He is a DJ and has been a top producer for close to a decade now. Check the facts man

  2. Matt Bozile says

flockaveli 2 is definitely not going to be an EDM album. He's been talking about how he's bringing it back to the hood for that, making sure he keeps his street fans – going EDM would be the death of him for that album. Prob the album after taht is EDM.
